Louisiana corporation income tax is imposed at a flat rate of 5.5% for tax periods beginning on or after January 1, 2025, and the prior graduated brackets have been repealed. For franchise tax periods beginning on or after January 1, 2026, the Louisiana corporation franchise tax has been repealed.

The state sales tax rate is 5%. The state general sales tax is due on the sales price under R.S. 47:301(13) for transactions subject to sales tax, and on the cost price under R.S. 47:301(3) for transactions subject to use tax.

Manufacturing property tax abatement
The Industrial Tax Exemption Program offers manufacturers an 80% property tax abatement for up to 10 years on a new investment, under an initial contract term of five years with the option to renew for an additional five year term. Parishes may choose to establish a Local ITEP Committee to provide recommendations on ITEP project applications, and those recommendations are non-binding.
